About the Role

A registered behavior technician supports and implements a patient care plan created by a board-certified behavior analyst. They provide ABA interventions that encourage socially acceptable replacement behaviors so clients can build and improve upon their communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Prior engagement with children. Some examples may include work as a nanny, daycare provider, preschool teacher, babysitter, etc.

  • Patience. Many clients throw tantrums, express frustration and protest in various ways. This is normal. This is the behavior we’re trying to eliminate and replace with appropriate skills.

  • A high school diploma.

  • Your own personal, reliable vehicle to travel to clients' treatment settings.

  • Ability to play very active games with the children, including getting up and down from the floor repeatedly as well as kneeling, squatting and walking or running.

  • Enough computer experience to navigate to a website in order to enter in the notes about each visit into the client's medical records.

Sessions occur in a variety of settings which can include home, school and community settings.
